Marlins Fernandez dies in boating accident

The world of baseball are in mourning. Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez was one of three men killed in a boating accident early Sunday morning. The Coast Guard arrived on the scene at 3am. Once on the scene, the Coast Guard found a 32- foot boat upside down on a jetty off Miami Beach. Two victims were found dead under the vessel, the other victim was found dead in the water. None were wearing life vests. Speed is suspected to be a factor in the accident because of the impact with the jetty,  no evidence of alcohol or illegal drug use. Fernandez was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the first round of the 2011 MLB draft. Making his debut on April 7, 2013. Won named Rookie of the month award July & August. After the season won the NL Rookie of the Year award, finishing third in the Cy Young award. The game between the Marlins and the Atlanta Braves was been canceled. Jose Fernandez was 24 years old.
